CURATIVE AND PREVENTIVE WOOD TREATMENT
-
Survey and removal of wood from all wooden elements to determine the affected areas, consisting of eliminating the rotten parts and exposing the still resistant wood.
-
Dust all wooden parts to facilitate product penetration during surface applications, using a wire brush
-
Drilling with a wood drill bit and installation of injection holes every 33 cm ( 9.5 injector ), i.e., 3 holes per meter on all pieces of wood with a half-perimeter of 17 cm or more
-
Injection
The aim of this operation is to create, within the structural elements, active insecticidal zones, in order to destroy larvae and insects that surface treatment could not reach.

-
Spraying : The product is then sprayed liberally and abundantly over the surfaces of all the wooden pieces. This operation is carried out using a nozzle mounted on the spray gun.
NOTE:
For softwoods:
Timber with a cross-section of 100 mm or more and a half perimeter of 400 mm or more, as well as round timber with a diameter greater than 300 mm.
- The wood in contact with the masonry.
- The wood at the level of the mortises.
For deciduous trees:
- The wood in contact with the masonry.
- The wood at the level of the mortises.
Note: In the case of preventive treatment, only the anchors and wood in contact with the masonry are injected.
In timber framing members in contact with the masonry along their entire length (wall plate, verge rafters and headers), an injection at the base of the rafters, double injection at the level of the embedments in contact with the masonry as well as at the links and this to 2/3 of the thickness, the woods having a section of a width greater than or equal to 100 mm and a half perimeter greater than or equal to 400 mm as well as round woods with a diameter greater than 300 mm.
Cleaning and removal of wood debris to prevent contamination of unprotected wood in the vicinity.
Sealing of wells using headless plastic injectors fitted with non-return balls
Injection of product under low pressure ( Wagner pistol Or Mabi Pump ), at a rate of 60 grams of product minimum per linear meter allowing better penetration into the sapwood, the heartwood.
Double application , by pressure spraying or brushing, at the discretion of the team leader, of product on all accessible wooden parts surfaces, at a rate of 250 to 300 grams of product per m² of developed wooden surface.
Regardless of the species, curative treatment is carried out by surface application for all woods with a cross-section of a width less than or equal to 100 mm and a half-perimeter less than or equal to 400 mm.
For woods with one of the superior dimensional characteristics, surface treatment is permitted if they are cracked to a depth equivalent to at least one-third of their cross-section and over a cumulative length greater than or equal to one-third of the total length of the piece.
Round timbers with a diameter of less than 300 mm and those with a larger cross-section if they are cracked to a depth at least equal to one-third of their diameter and over a cumulative length greater than or equal to one-third of the total length of the piece can be treated only by surface application.
